Education for giving is one of the pillars of the Yad Meshoham association. As part of this project, we work with schools, youth movements and sports, and teach the younger generation the values of mutual guarantee. The students take part in a variety of activities and donation and product collection campaigns throughout the year, with an emphasis on Israeli holidays.
Every week, hundreds of families receive food baskets adapted to the family, directly to their homes, delivered by the association’s volunteers. We take care of nutritional security, and in addition to providing the food basket, we make sure that the families feel that their dignity is being preserved and that there is a personal relationship and an open communication channel with the volunteer through which they can raise requests for assistance The association is a solution to various hardships.
The “Home Shabbat Meals for Battalions” project has grown in scope from a few hundred dishes to about 1500 dishes each week. Dishes that range from Shoham, Gimzo, Givaat Shmuel and Rehovot. Business owners also join our wonderful project, which includes many volunteers: breweries, drivers, packing houses. Last week we were blessed with another business owner who opens his heart and wallet to the project and offers us to purchase fresh rolls and halot from his bakery, which will be baked every Thursday in honor of the project, at very low prices and he also promised to increase the donation in addition to what he will purchase.
‘Hut Hashani’ allows the residents of Shoham to donate clothes and at the same time help those in need. The proceeds from each item sold allows us to expand our help. This is a cycle that allows the community to maintain a green environment while helping families in need. The name ‘the second thread’ has multiple meanings on the one hand to commemorate the deceased two (We will add details later) and on the other hand, doing good, which runs as the other thread and connects the sales money used to buy food for the needy on the one hand and circulation which is a pillar in maintaining the quality of the environment on the other hand. The store’s operating hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

An exciting collaboration between “Yad Mishoham” and Mrs. Ella Dobrov who came up with a creative solution for clothes for wounded soldiers. These days, a group of volunteer seamstresses is being established in Shoham (and several other cities), who will begin sewing adapted clothes for the wounded, and allow them to recover with dignity In addition, the association will assist with a financial platform for the project.
Many hundreds of children across the country have already received refurbished and renewed bicycles. This project, which began in Shoham, helps children displaced by the ‘Iron Swords’ war and also families in need to receive bicycles customized to the recipient’s measurements, and above all – to strengthen the feeling of mutual guarantee.
A project that provides recreational and enrichment opportunities for youth from needy families in Shoham and the surrounding area. As part of the project, children from families in need receive financial support provided by a scholarship that allows them to participate in classes, workshops, trips and cultural events, which helps them enrich their knowledge in their areas of interest, develop social, cognitive and physical skills to realize their skills.
The association works in collaboration with the welfare departments, school administrators, and the student’s parents with the belief that every boy and girl deserves an equal opportunity and the right to realize their potential.
